DAFFODILS

Image
It's rare that I see passengers on board with flowers. And when I do, it makes me smile. I have had some nice passengers who gave us some goodies like chocolates and candies.  One time, I had a very nice lady who gave us a small bottle of perfume. I have also received a book from an author and one Christian book from a couple. Many times I have been appreciated. Passengers tried and insisted to give me some tip money, but I don't accept them. I always say that I love what I do and that's part of my service. To be appreciated verbally is good enough for me. While deplaning our flight to Minneapolis, a lady handed me some of her daffodils. It was such a very nice gesture. Thanks to our nice passengers who appreciate us for what we do. It does matter a lot.

DELTA DAY

March 18, 2016 was my special "Delta Day." To visit the Delta Museum was on my list of things to do.  I finally got to see it on a special occasion. My friend, John has moved to our mother company, the mainline Delta. We were happy to see him graduated with his new wings.  He's off to board a bigger plane, go to farther places and enjoy more perks. He's been encouraging me to move with him, but I have given it a thought many times. I have pretty much decided to stay where I am - to work on a smaller Delta plane, deal with 76 passengers and travel just within the US and Canada.  Working for the bigger Delta may be better, but I am grateful enough that I have the job that I wanted and enjoy. I didn't get to see everything in the museum, but I have nice photos and good memories on this special Delta Day with my dear friend, John.

ONE STEP AT A TIME

One of the most memorable passengers I've had so far was this woman.  She is a holocaust survivor.  She was by herself to Minneapolis, with a cane and could barely walk.  She walked one step at a time. I assisted her to the bathroom, and it took us a long time to go in and out of the bathroom due to her difficulty walking. But her struggle wasn't shown on her face.  We were having fun while I was assisting her to the bathroom. I enjoyed talking to her and serving her. She's very nice and very appreciative. She's an empowered woman with lots of courage to travel by herself. I admire her. She is indeed an inspiration. It was my great honor to have her on our flight.
