Poppy Seed Day

November 11 is a "Remembrance Day" in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, France and Belgium.  It is a special day to commemorate military personnel and civilian who died in war.  It is also known as "Armistice Day."

Working a flight to Canada on November 11, you would see some passengers wearing a poppy seed. Poppies are red flowers usually grow on land which has been disturbed.  Honestly, I didn't know what it symbolizes until I asked and researched about it.

Now, when I travel to Canada on November 11, I will also wear a poppy seed and join them on "Remembrance Day."
